Computer Ratings good for 5 years!

 But . .

Isn’t it unfair to change the validity period for those players who will have sat out two years and were expecting to get re-rated in 2003?

Answer:
The USA League Tennis Committee recognizes the basic fairness issues involved. For that reason, all sections will start the 2003 league year by looking back only two years (matches played in 2001 and 2002) for computer ratings. All players with ratings prior to 2001 will be allowed to self-rate to enter the 2003 league year. One additional year will be added each Championship year until the 5-year history required by the rule 3.01D is available in all sections.

Note:
Any player sitting out in 2002 because they were level-listed will still have to enter the 2004 league using that computer rating.     So  . . .  DON’T SIT OUT!
