 Captain's Information and Site Responsibilities

Captains Meeting:  Thursday, Sept. 11 2:45 at Westgate Tennis Center for all 7.0 adult mixed doubles captains.
Captains Meeting:  Thursday, Sept. 11 7:00 at Westgate Tennis Center for adult 6.0, 8.0 and 9.0 captains as well as 6.0 SR, 7.0 SR and 8.0 SR captains.

Tournament Information:
USTA Mixed Doubles League Champion teams from the eleven local leagues will be invited to compete in the 2008 USTA Alabama Mixed Doubles Championships to be held September 11-14, 2008 in Dothan, AL.  Wildcard teams may be invited to complete the draw in each level if needed.  The format of play will be a round robin based on the number of teams entered.  The format may be changed by the Tournament Committee, if needed.

Exit tennis center parking area & turn left on Recreation Rd.
Go to Choctaw (By flag pole)
Turn left onto Choctaw
Go through 2 traffic lights
Then go to second 4-way stop sign
Turn left onto Girard
Go to first right, which is Pontiac
Azalea Swim & Tennis is approx. 1 block on left (behind school)

Exit tennis center parking area & turn left on Recreation Road.
Go to Choctaw (by flag pole)
Turn left onto Choctaw
Go through 2 traffic lights
Go through three 4-way stop signs. (Cherokee)
Turn right onto Cherokee & go straight until you see Dothan Country Club.

Team and individual scores and standings will be posted at the tournament headquarters each day.  Results will be entered into TennisLink throughout each day and can be viewed by clicking on championship advanced search. 

Tournament Site Desks

All captains are asked to turn in their lineups at least 30 minutes prior to the scheduled match time with all team members present and ready to play.  The USTA Point Penalty System will be in effect with lateness penalties imposed.  A fifteen-minute default time will be strictly enforced.

Practice Courts

Available on a first-come-first-serve basis at Wiregrass Recreation Center throughout the tournament.   Practice courts will be open at Westgate before the first round of play each day but will close at 7:15 am each morning for final grooming.  There will be no practice courts at Azalea or at Dothan Country Club.

Player Party

The player party location will be forthcoming.  Date and time:  Friday, September 12 beginning at 7:00 pm with dinner, door prizes and entertainment provided by a DJ.

Awards

Awards will be presented to the participants listed on the winning entry form.
